As with architecture and interior design, I am equally passionate about fashion design. From a very young age, I would fill the empty back pages of my schoolbooks with brave fashion drawings and ambitious house designs. Over the years, the passion for fashion grew stronger and stronger until I decided to get a diploma in Fashion at CPUT and learn more about fabrics, construction and design in general.
It was whilst studying fashion design that I came to realize all the similarities between Fashion and Architecture/ Interior Design. In all of these design disciplines, one needs to understand the brief first and foremost, know your materials well and know how to manipulate them best to create the desired effect. Even though I do not practice formally in fashion these days, it still holds a special place in my heart. My frivolous and fun creative side I call it.
